Mumbai Rains Force Postponement of NAREDCO Maharashtra’s Flagship Real Estate Forum
Mumbai’s relentless downpour has once again disrupted city life, this time impacting one of the country’s biggest real estate events. The National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), Maharashtra, announced on August 19, 2025, that its flagship event — The Real Estate Forum 2025 — has been postponed in light of heavy rainfall and worsening weather conditions.
The forum, themed “Reimagining Maharashtra: Global Alliances to Local Impact,” was originally scheduled for August 20, 2025. It was expected to host top policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and change-makers. Among the high-profile attendees were Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani.

In a statement, NAREDCO Maharashtra said:
“As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) advisory on heavy rains and uncertain weather conditions, The Real Estate Forum 2025 scheduled on August 20 has been postponed.”
Rain Havoc in Mumbai and Across Maharashtra
The postponement comes as Mumbai recorded over 300 mm of rainfall on August 19 alone, triggering massive waterlogging, traffic snarls, and flight delays. Neighboring districts such as Pune, Thane, and Raigad also experienced torrential downpours on August 18 and 19.
Chief Minister Fadnavis described the situation as “extremely crucial” for areas placed under the IMD’s red alert. He highlighted that Mumbai had received 300 mm of rainfall within just 24 hours — with more than 200 mm of it concentrated in an 11-hour spell on August 19.

Looking Ahead
While the new dates for the forum are yet to be announced, NAREDCO assured participants that the rescheduled event will continue to serve as a premier platform for dialogue on Maharashtra’s real estate growth, infrastructure development, and global partnerships.
