Apple’s Landmark Rental Deals in India
Apple’s Bengaluru investment follows a series of high-profile leases in India:
- Mumbai (BKC): In December 2023, Apple signed one of India’s costliest commercial deals—6,526 sq. ft. at Maker Maxity-5 at ₹738 per sq. ft. per month. The deal translated to ₹48.19 lakh monthly rent and a ₹4.33 crore security deposit.
- Delhi (Saket): Apple’s store at Select Citywalk Mall spans a massive 22,000 sq. ft. with an initial rent of ₹40 lakh per month.
These flagship stores highlight Apple’s aggressive retail push to reach more Indian consumers directly, instead of relying solely on third-party resellers.
Bottom Line
With the Bengaluru Hebbal store, Apple has not only expanded its footprint but also showcased its confidence in India’s role as a major growth market. By combining premium real estate deals with immersive customer experiences, Apple is setting the tone for the next chapter of retail innovation in the country.
