In a landmark move set to strengthen its logistics network, Amazon Seller Services Pvt Ltd has signed a 20-year lease agreement for a 5.59 lakh sq ft warehouse in Hooghly, near Kolkata. The deal, valued at nearly ₹430 crore over the lease period, is being hailed as one of the largest warehousing transactions in India.
Deal Structure and Financials
According to property registration documents, the agreement has been signed with Nahar Industrial Enterprises Limited under a pre-lease arrangement. The warehouse facility is scheduled for handover between January 2026 and June 2026, with the official lease commencing on June 1, 2026.
- Monthly rent: ₹1.26 crore (₹1,26,63,856)
- Security deposit: ₹7.60 crore
- Escalation clause: 12% every three years
- Lock-in period: Five years
- Extension option: Additional three years after the 20-year tenure
The long-term nature of this deal highlights Amazon’s strong commitment to expanding its supply chain infrastructure in eastern India.

Amazon’s Past Real Estate Moves
This isn’t Amazon’s first major property transaction in recent times. In April 2025, Godrej Green Homes Pvt Ltd renewed a lease for 94,000 sq ft of office space to four Amazon group companies in Mumbai’s Vikhroli area. The five-year lease, spread across the 7th floor of the Godrej Two building on the Eastern Express Highway, carries a monthly rent of ₹1.73 crore.
