For those already under construction, a six-month grace period has been granted to complete work and secure a completion certificate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, 17 plots have crossed the 12-year limit without completion. Of these, nine have seen no construction at all and are likely to face immediate cancellation. Officials also revealed that nearly <\/span><b>1,500 of the 30,000 allotted plots<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> show only token construction\u2014minimal structures built just to obtain a completion certificate. These are later resold at premium rates, turning housing plots into speculative assets rather than functional homes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Noidas_Crackdown_on_Defaulting_Developers\"><\/span><strong>Noida\u2019s Crackdown on Defaulting Developers<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The board also took stock of stalled housing projects under the <\/span><b>\u2018legacy housing projects\u2019 policy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Despite receiving concessions in 2023\u2014where developers were allowed to pay 25% upfront and the balance over three years with interest waivers\u2014many builders defaulted.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>10 developers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have not paid any land cost at all.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>25 developers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> made only partial payments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>35 developers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> stopped paying after the initial 25%.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This has left thousands of homebuyers stuck. While registries for <\/span><b>3,724 flats<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have been executed, <\/span><b>5,758 units remain on hold<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> until dues are cleared. This harmonisation aims to simplify processes for both developers and homebuyers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Push_Towards_Sustainability\"><\/span><strong>Push Towards Sustainability<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Noida Authority also approved multiple infrastructure and environmental initiatives, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An <\/span><b>integrated solid waste management plant<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at Mubarakpur, Sector 145, with a capacity to process 300 tonnes daily. The plant will generate electricity, produce fertilizer, and provide treated water.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>\u20b986.67 crore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sanctioned for retrofitting sewage treatment plants in Sectors 35, 54, 123, and 168.
