They are paid for the registration of the property document with the registration authorities, in official manner.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fee for property related instruments shall generally be 2% of the value applicable, under the relevant registration fee schedule. If the value is more than \u20b925 lakh, then concessional calculation is applicable on value up to \u20b925 lakh and normal rate is applicable on value in excess.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The department also states that the concession on transfer of immovable property up to \u20b925 lakh to a female buyer is available twice in a lifetime subject to the applicable conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let us take a property that is valued at \u20b940 lakh.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stamp duty on first \u20b925 lakh @3.75% = \u20b993,750.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stamp duty on balance \u20b915 lakh @ 5% = \u20b975,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Total stamp duty = 1,68,750 \u20b9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Registration fee = Rs 50,000\/-.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Total stamp duty + registration fee = \u20b9 2,18,750.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Always check the concession eligibility on the official <\/span><b>e-Valuation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> system or registration office before finalizing your purchase budget.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Joint_Ownership_What_Happens\"><\/span><b> Joint Ownership: What Happens?<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joint ownership requires a little more care as the stamp duty treatment can vary depending on how the ownership shares are written in the document.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The government notification on women buyers says that where a property is transferred jointly and the share of the woman buyer is clearly specified, the concession can be applied to her share.
